Cost of classes
All classes are 1 hour in length, and cost €12*.
For dancers booking and paying in advance for all classes in a calendar month, the cost is discounted to €10.
No refunds are given for missed pre-paid classes, but if you give reasonable notice of the cancellation then you will be given a credit for that class's value towards any of my other classes within the next 4 weeks, subject to availability.

Currently, no membership fees or requirements apply at any of my class venues.

Class Basis
Public classes are normally on a drop-in basis; you neither need to book nor pay in advance (but may choose to do so in order to benefit from volume discounts). However, this does mean that I cannot predict numbers attending any particular class. Once a class is full, no further students can be admitted; so please arrive early, to avoid disappointment (and to make sure that you take part in the warm-up before commencing any dance movements).

What to wear
Most beginners wear T-shirt and skirt or leggings - something loose, cool & comfortable; and we are preferably barefoot.  A hip-belt accentuates hip movements and most beginners find this advantageous; hip-belts are available for purchase at most classes.

Children in classes
Minors (i.e. persons under the age of 18) can only be permitted in classes if accompanied by a responsible adult. Children under the age of 16 (only if suitably accompanied) may be admitted at the "child" rate (see the Class fees section).

Men in classes
Classes are usually all-female.  However, male dancers are always allowed on request, at Jacqueline's discretion, subject to checking with the female students before permitting a male dancer to join the class.

In particular, many Moslem ladies are not permitted, because of their religion, to take part in a dance class if there is a man in the room (even if he is not dancing), so males cannot take part if there are such objections. This is a very rare occurrence.

Classes may be accompanied by an Arabic drummer - who is generally a male.

Female transexuals (women that were born male but are now technically female) are not categorised as males in this instance, and they are welcome at any classes.

Private classes and personal training can be run for any group of dancers, male, female or mixed. Classes for males only can be traditional (i.e "female") bellydancing, middle-eastern male belly dancing (Tahtib etc.), or a mixture of the 2; but will only be arranged for when a chaperone is on hand.

Currency of venue information
We try to keep this site as up-to-date as possible, but please check before attending any class, as some venues close during school holiday periods and venues and times may change without notice due to circumstances beyond our control. Class Teacher
All classes are normally led personally by Jacqueline; however, in exceptional circumstances, one of Jacqueline's top-trained students may lead a class.  If it is critical for you to be taught by Jacqueline, please check before attending the class.

Costumes & Accessories
Hip belts are usually available for purchase at Jacqueline's classes.  If you may require such items, or costumes, veils, skirts etc., please call Jacqueline the day before the class to check whether she will have suitable items with her at that particular class.
